Alaska exported $165 million of fertilizer and refined petroleum product to Mexico in 2005. The fertilizer export of $74 million reflects the important role the country plays in agricultural products for North America. Despite its status as one of the world’s largest crude oil exporters, Mexico is a net importer of refined petroleum products. Alaska exported $76 million of refined product to Mexico in 2005.
