  • Alaska works with Western Canadian partners – British Columbia, Yukon Territory, Alberta and the city of Prince Rupert, B.C. – on a joint tourism marketing campaign and promotion to attract tourists to all four regions: Tourism North.

  • The Alaska Highway brings travelers to Alaska through western Canada.

  • Alaska ferries link Southeast Alaska to Bellingham, WA, via Prince Rupert, B.C.

  • Large cruise ships ply the Inside Passage between Vancouver and Juneau along with others towns in Southeast Alaska.

  • Flights connect Alaska's three main cities, Anchorage, Fairbanks and Juneau, with western Canada in scheduled and charter service. During the summer tourist season, more flights are available.

  • Cargo travels between Alaska and Canada by air, road and sea.

  • There have been proposals to extend the railroads in Alaska and Canada to connect, but no decisions have been made and this remains an open question
