Producing Results that Matter to Alaskans
Alaskans expect government to provide a wide range of services, such as a quality education, keep communities safe, and protect public health. State employees set education standards, patrol communities, and enforce health codes. Residents have a right to expect Alaska government to be accountable in producing results within each of its programs, in the most efficient manner possible.
Performance is the tool the Administration uses to set goals, measure progress, and be accountable to Alaskans for getting results that matter.
The Performance framework includes:
- Mission: Conveys why an agency exists.
- Core Services: Major functions that support achieving the mission
- End Results: What of value is brought to the public if the mission is achieved
- Strategies: Steps that will lead towards the end results
- Targets and Status: Provides information (evidence) on whether the strategies are functional and the end results are being achieved
- Analysis & Challenges: Conveys context to the data
