Term: 4 years Description: 8 total members. 5 appointed by Governor from among citizens of the state. Plus the chair of the Alaska Commission on Aging, Chair of the Alaska Veterans Advisory Council, One member who is a Veteran of active service in the armed forces of the US, including the Alaska National Guard or the Alaska Territorial Guard. Serve at pleasure of the Governor. Function: Conducts annual inspections of property and procedures of the Alaska Pioneers' Homes and recommends changes and improvements to Governor. Chair: Elected by board. Special facts: Serve at the pleasure of the Governor. Chair serves as a member of the Alaska Commission on Aging. Compensation: Standard Travel and Per Diem. Meetings: Meets on an annual basis, with special meetings as necessary.
