Description: 3 members appointed by the Governor: currently the committee consists of the Lieutenant Governor, 1 public member, and 1 Department of Law representative. This has traditionally been the makeup of the committee.
Function: Reviews applications for executive clemency along with the investigation and makes recommendations to the Governor.

Special facts: Committee is non-statutory.AS 33.20.070, AS 33.20.080 relate. All meetings are held in Juneau. Rather than appointing/continuing this Committee, the Governor may grant advisory authority to the Parole Board. The staff of the Parole Board writes reports for clemency upon request of the Governor. Serve at the pleasure of the Governor.
Compensation: Members receive no compensation.
Meetings: Approximately 3 meetings per year or as required by committee.
