ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER NO. 181
I, Tony Knowles, Governor of the State of Alaska, under the
authority of art. 111, Sec. 1 and 23 of the Alaska Constitution,
hereby amend my Administrative Order No. 177.
BACKGROUND
To do the Administration's utmost to ensure essential state
government functions continue without disruption, I declared
Year 2000 compliance to be a priority of the highest level for
the executive branch. On August 28, 1998, I signed Administrative
Order No.177 creating the Year 2000 project office in the Office
of the Governor.
ORDER
To further this Administration's consolidation and reorganization
efforts, I hereby amend Administrative Order No. 177 to establish
the Y2K project office in the Department of Administration. In
recognition of the Year 2000 compliance priority, the Commissioner
of Administration will also function as the Y2K senior project
manager. For the same reason, the Y2K project office, which has
worked closely with state agencies in compiling inventories and
assessments of their automated systems, will report directly
to the Commissioner of Administration.
This order takes effect immediately.
Dated this 6th day of January, 1999.
S/S Tony
Knowles
