Under the authority of Article III, Sections 1 and 24 of the Alaska Constitution and AS 44.17.020, I, Walter J. Hickel, Governor of the State of Alaska, order the following in the interest of economy and efficiency in accordance with sound administrative principles and practices and to more clearly direct the State's efforts to develop its human resources, its local economy and its communities:

Rename the Division of Rural Development within the Department of Community and Regional Affairs as the Division of Community and Rural Development.

This order takes effect immediately.
