ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER NO. 96
Under the authority of Article III, Sections 1 and 24 of the
Alaska Constitution and AS 44.17.060, I hereby designate the
Alaska Department of Labor as the agency responsible for the
implementation of an occupational information system to meet
the common needs for the planning and operation of programs authorized
by the Carl D. Perkins Vocational Education Act, 20 USC §
2301 et. seq., as it may be amended from time to time.
WHEREAS the Alaska Department of Labor serves, in accordance
with Section 125 of the Job Training Partnership Act (P.L. 97-300),
as the state agency responsible for the oversight and management
of a statewide comprehensive labor market and occupational supply
and demand information system.
I find that the designation of the Alaska Department of Labor
as the provider of occupational information under the Carl D.
Perkins Vocational Education Act will further promote and enhance
the availability of occupational information for education, employment,
and training opportunities for residents of the state.
FURTHERMORE, I designate the Alaska Occupational Information
Coordinating Committee (committee) as the committee responsible
for improving coordination and communication among administrators
and planners of programs authorized by the Carl D. Perkins Vocational
Education Act and the Job Training Partnership Act, employment
security administrators, research personnel, and personnel of
employment and training planning and administering agencies (including
apprenticeship training agencies).
I find that the designation of this committee will promote
the use of occupational information for education, employment,
and training opportunities for residents of the state.
This order takes effect on May 13, 1987.
DATED at Juneau, Alaska, this 13 day of May,1987.
