ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER NO. 84
Under the authority of Article III of the Alaska Constitution
and AS 44.17.060, I hereby designate the Alaska Department of
Labor as the agency responsible for the implementation of an
occupational information system to meet the common needs for
the planning and operation of programs authorized by the Carl
Perkins Act, as it may be amended from time to time.
WHEREAS,
The Alaska Department of Labor serves, in accordance with
Section 125 of the Job Training Partnership Act (P.L. 97-300),
as the state agency responsible for the oversight and management
of a statewide comprehensive labor market and occupational supply
and demand information system,
I find that the designation of the Alaska Department of Labor
as the provider of occupational information under the Carl Perkins
Act will further promote and enhance the availability of occupational
information for education, employment, and training opportunities
for residents of the state.
FURTHERMORE,
I designate the Alaska Occupational Information Coordinating
Committee (committee) the responsible group to improve coordination
and communication among administrators and planners of programs
authorized by the Carl Perkins Act and the Job Training Partnership
Act, employment security administrators, research personnel,
and personnel of employment and training planning and administering
agencies (including apprenticeship training agencies).
I find that the designation of this committee will promote
the use of occupational information for education, employment,
and training opportunities for residents of the state.
This order takes effect on October 14, 1985.
