ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER NO. 6
WHEREAS, the United States Department of Transportation has
publicly stated that Alaska is no longer within any official
tine zone; and
WHEREAS, efforts by that Department have not yet resolved
the question of which zones shall control the time in the various
areas of Alaska; and
WHEREAS, certainty in matters of time is essential to the
operations of business and industry, to the smooth flow of commerce,
and to the conduct of the daily activities and domestic life
of all Alaskans
NOW THEREFORE, by virtue of the authority vested in me as
Governor, I hereby order that until official time zones are established
for Alaska by the United States Department of Transportation,
all departments and agencies of the State of Alaska shall continue
to use and observe the same time system that has been in effect
throughout this summer.
This Order takes effect immediately.
